Good for you to keep up the exercise and the journal.

What does the "1 hour kickboxing" involve? I seem to remember Jeff saying something about his martial arts class being more waiting/standing and then periods of high intensity. Are you doing something aerobically for an hour or attending an hour class?

Its a solid hour of activity. We usually start with a 5-10 minute warm up that might consist of runnning (forwards/backwards/side shuffles), med ball use (while running), various small obsticles, sprints, etc. The we do about 30-40 min of working on the heavy bags (punch/kick combos with some sprawls, pushups thrown in). Then we finish with some sort of 'lighter' workout using hand weights, kick pads and the like. They take no breaks, especially if any of the senior instructors are teaching. I'm usually a nice sweaty mess by the end.

That does sound like an intense workout. Probably kill me. :) Where do you do it?

CoreTactix in Dublin. Its owned by three (four?) women. They specilize in Krav Maga but also teach kickboxing. They have good bunch of instructors and a pretty regular group of students.

I try to get there at least twice a week. Like to do three but thats why I keep the gym membership up for days I can't make class.

I think the workouts are pretty tough. Of course Lynn thisnks they are 'ok' but then she thinks anything short of Marine Boot Camp is 'ok' :D (even she admits getting sore sometimes though).
