So my workout have been going really well at Curves. Not sure it they are taking off weight or inches but they make me feel great and I have had a lot of energy lately.

The one thing I would like to work on is my arms. I would like to get some definition on them. I am lucky that I don't have the wiggly underarm skin that a lot of women get. My upper arms are firm but, I think, rather big. If I got them a little more cut they would look a lot better.

Can any of you give me some tips on what I can do? Don't want to become Aria or Adara but would enjoy having nicely defined musles.

What are you doing at Curves for your arms? The two most obvious things would be to do some type of curls for the biceps and a kickback for the triceps. The curls might just make your arms bigger though, and you are probably more interested in the triceps.

Here is a link with a lot of good triceps exercises that you could try out.

Mark, thanks for the website. It looks like a good one.

Good job on you mid-monthlies. Keep it up.

Well, I have done something to my knee. No clue what I did but it has gotten steadily worse over the week. It started out as a tinge that kept catching in my knee and then, by this weekend, it was very hard to walk and ached when I would sit still. I bought a brace yesterday and it made my knee feel better almost instantly. I am going to try and get it checked out today. I am going to try and go to Curves today and see what I can do without hurting my knee more.

So why do things like this happen when you have big plans ahead? I have already decided that I can't let this put me down. I will stilll walk all over Paris. G-Money reminded me last night, when I was in funk, that I hiked the Grand Canyon with a sprained ankle, I can do Paris on a bum knee.

Gotta look past, do what you need to heal but keep doing what else you can. I effed up my shoulder about a month ago and it is still not right. So I've been missing my basketball every week and that sucks. But I'm still running.

Be sure to get that looked at quickly. The part about the twinge 'catching' bothers me. I'd bring that brace with you to Paris just in case :D

I was doing real well this month until I got the sinus crud friday. Been down three days, poping drugs, did not sleep last night, weak.

On the plus side I'm still loosing weight! Hmmm, don;t think that's a good thing.

Mid-Month Check-in

Had my monthly weight in at Curves today (measure inches all over, weigh on scale, body fat moniter, and then calculate body fat total using the last two measurements). Since I was so bad at getting this done on time the past few months (the 16th is my normal day) it was only two weeks between my two measurements (2nd - 16th)

Weight: 176
Body fat %: 32.4
Body fat lbs lost: 3
Total inches lost since Sept 06: 8ins.

I was REALLY surprised how well I did at the weight in. I lost 3 lbs of fat in two weeks! My scale pounds was only down 1lb which means I have been gaining muscle weight while losing fat. I have to say that the Challenge has been my inspiration.

What do they use to show you the amount of body fat lost? Or are they jsut comparing the percentages of body fat to the last time it was measured?

Good job. I'll try to ride your inspiration and get back on track.

They take the weight in pounds and the body fat % and use the calculator to come up with the amount of pounds in Body fat. I believe that means the amount of pounds to lost to get you to you optimal weight.

If I remember correctly that weight is 125 (lost 50lbs) for me. However, I barely made that when I was very skinny in college, trying to get into my wedding dress. The weight I would like to get to is 145-155.

Still a close race (as of 4/17):

Mark - 96 points
Jo - 94 points
Big Dog - 92 points

I just need the other two to fall off the wagon for about half a week. ;)
